Falcon HS Band and Orchestra

About Mrs. Baart! - Band Director - Falcon Middle School

Born & raised in California, my family moved to Colorado when I was in middle school and I have called Colorado home ever since!

I joined band in 5th grade, playing the flute. I almost quit, but in high school band became like family to me. I went to Pine Creek High School, playing the flute in marching band and concert band. I continued on flute, but learned the trumpet for sophomore year of marching band and continued playing trumpet in jazz band and pep band. My junior and senior year I was the drum major for our marching band!

I graduated in 2004 and went to Colorado State University in Fort Collins, majoring in music education. I continued with marching band there for 4 years (can you tell I love marching band?). I studied abroad in the Czech Republic for a semester before completing my student teaching in District 20. I then graduated in May of 2009 with my Bachelor of Arts in Music with emphasis on education.

I taught elementary music in D20 for one year, then moved on to other things. I was (and am) a photographer, and worked for Lifetouch for 7 years.

In 2014 I met Mr. Divine, the Falcon High School band director, and have been helping out with the Falcon High School band ever since. Last year I was officially on staff with the marching band and will continue to be involved with the FHS program.

In February 2017 I came to Falcon Middle School to take over when Mrs. Prewett had to move suddenly. I never expected to end up teaching music again, but it is one of the best things that has happened to me! I love working at FMS and have the best students in the world. :)
